Saturday Night Polka Dance:  Listen & dance to the music of Stříbrňanka. The Czech Educational Foundation of Texas, in partnership with the University of North Texas College of Music, brings one of the most popular brass bands of Moravia Czech Republic for a tour across Texas. Only $5 per person – Ages 14 and under free. The kitchen will be open. Cash bar. Doors open at 6:00. No reservations please.

Sokol $10K Giveaway Building Fund Benefit:  Music by LD and Anything Goes at 6:45 and Bustin’ Loose with Ira Bradford at 9:30. Steak dinner served 6:00-8:00. $125 donation admits 2 and includes dinner, beverages, dance, and chances to win one of the 20 cash prizes! Drawing at 9:00 and need not be present to win. Only 400 tickets will be sold. Reservations accepted for parties of 8 (4 tickets) or more.

Movie Night: Please join us Friday night in the Sokol Clubroom for our featured film “Želary”, an epic tale about a nurse and her surgeon-lover who are part of a resistance movement in 1940s Czechoslovakia. When they are discovered, her lover flees and she must find a place to hide. A patient whose life she saved, a man from a remote mountain village where time stopped 150 years ago, agrees to hide her as his wife. (Rated R – 2001 film – language: Czech & English). Czech music videos and social following the film. Entrance and parking located in back of building. No cover charge. Bring a covered dish if you like. Doors open at 5:30.
