Redistricting announced, Italy ISD returns to a 1A classification

UIL redistricting classifies Italy ISD as 1A for the 2012-2013 school year. UIL requests student enrollment be submitted from a specified day during the month of October to determine classification. Italy ISD submitted a total number of 172 students attending school on the day specified by the UIL. The cutoff between 1A and 2A is 199 total students, therefore, Italy has been redistricted and returns to the 1A level.

As it relates to sports, UIL Football’s Conference 1A Region 2 District 6 Division 1 schools will be:

  • Cayuga
  • Dallas Gateway
  • Italy
  • Itasca
  • Kerens
  • Malakoff Cross Roads

During basketball, Italy will be in Conference 1A Region 2 District 14 Division 1, along with:

  • Arlington Summitt Intl. Prep
  • Dallas Gateway
  • Dallas Triple A Academy
  • Grand Prairie Advantage Academy
  • Italy
  • Itasca
