Lady Gladiator Softball starts their district journey in the win column


The Lady Gladiator softball team traveled to RioVista on Monday to take on the Lady Eagles in their district opener. Senior pitcher, Megan Richards logged the shutout win and her sister, Alyssa Richards got the scoring started for the team with a one run homerun over the right field fence (into the wind!).

Defensively the Lady Gladiators had a solid game with only one hit being allowed against freshman relief pitcher, Jaclynn Lewis in the later innings of the game. Relief catcher, Paige Westbrook caught a runner stealing second on a throw down to Bailey Bumpus and Katie Byers made a skillful line drive catch (with a little something extra) to end the fourth inning.

It was a great day to be a Lady Gladiator Softball fan!!!

The Lady Gladiators will take on the Axtell Lady Longhorns in game two of their district schedule at home on Friday, March 9th. Game time is 6:00pm.  Be there!
