Avalon Elementary fifth six weeks awards brought many smiles

In the old gymnasium at Avalon ISD, the bleachers were filled with elementary students, teachers and family members ready to recognize the achievements of the elementary students. The assembly took a while because there were so many awards.

Every time a student’s name was called and an award was given, fellow classmates cheered them on along with family members. This is the second awards assembly for Avalon Elementary and the students are so proud and excited that when their name is called that they race down the bleachers to receive their awards.

Mr. Tennery (principal) is overjoyed with the response he is having with the award assemblies. This is the second one that they have ever had and the kids are receiving many awards. He said, “The kids love having these award assemblies. They are so excited that just about everyday they will ask me if they are going to get an award. And at this second assembly we even have more awards than we did on the first assembly. I am very proud of our kids—they are doing great.”

Way to go Avalon, keep up the good work!
