Mr. Miller (principal) put in place a program for the students at Stafford Elementary to be rewarded for demonstrating good behavior. Every time a child is showing responsibility, respect, walking in the halls respectfully and quietly, has all his materials for class, minding the teachers they receive a “PAWS card.”

This is the way it works:

The teacher will let Mr. Miller know who has earned a PAWS card and that student is then called into Mr. Millers office and the students signs their name on a list. The name goes up on a board with many rows and once there are is a completed row of names, they get a pizza party at CiCi’s with Mr. Miller.

Wednesday morning at 10:45 thirteen Stafford students were lined up and ready to get on the bus to take a trip to CiCi’s Pizza with Mr. Miller. Talk about some excited kids, they were ready to go. They had earned their PAWS cards and were very proud and ready for pizza.

“This is our second CiCi’s trip for students that have shown exemplary behavior. They were awarded paw tickets from various teachers. This is our largest group that we have taken. There are about 21 kids qualified to go, we are only taking thirteen today and I will take the rest of the group on another day because they are on another field trip today. This is just a way to show our appreciation to the students for showing appropriate behavior. They have done a great job, not only the students but the teachers have done a great job on identifying the students that are doing a good job. This is a good way to promote good behavior,” said Mr. Miller proudly.

Way to go Stafford Tigers and Congratulations!
