Field Day at Stafford Elementary
Every year Stafford Elementary has a field day. This is where the students participate in many games such as relays, volleyball and water slides. This year Field Day was two days. On Thursday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm the pre-K, kindergarten, first grade and second grade were first up on the field. Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm the third grade, fourth grade, fifth grade and sixth grade students took over the field.
This year there were lots of water games. They played a fun game where the students lined up in two teams. In front of each line was a bucket filled with water and a sponge. At the end of each line was an empty bucket.
The game went like this:
The leader of the line got the sponge as wet as he could, then he passed it over his head to the next player. Each player passed the sponge to the end of the line where the person at the end of the line took the sponge and squeezed as much water as he could into the empty bucket. The team to fill the bucket with the most water wins.
As you can imagine there were lots of cheering, laughing and wet students as they passed the drippy sponges.
Water slides were the hit of the day. Lots of students were lined up and ready to slide down the slide into a pool of water. What a way to cool off on a hot day!
There were hot and heavy games of volleyball, football-hoop, and lots of other games being played. And we can’t forget everybody’s favorite, the sack races.
More great days at Stafford Elementary!
