Italy Police Department to participate in the 2012 Click it or Ticket Campaign
Between May 21 and June 3, including Memorial Day weekend, law enforcement throughout Texas will be working overtime to issue tickets to drivers and passengers who aren’t buckled up. Drivers with children who aren’t properly secured will get a citation, too.
Buckle Up or Pay Up
A seat belt ticket can cost anywhere from $25 to $250 plus court costs. Aside from saving money, wearing a seat belt reduces the risk of fatal injury by up to 60 percent.
Don’t Pick Up a Ticket
What many people don’t realize is that pickups are twice as likely as passenger vehicles to roll over in a crash. That makes it especially important for pickup drivers and passengers – who buckle up less than motorists in other vehicles – to always use seat belts. Learn more at TexasClickItorTicket.com.
Click It or Ticket
The smart and safe choice for all motorists is to buckle up, every time, everywhere, and make sure everyone in the vehicle does the same.
