On June 15th, 2012 at around 7:56pm, the Italy Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety conducted a traffic stop on a white 1999 Lincoln Towncar on I-35E (NB) at around milemarker 389.

The Italy Police Department had earlier received information about the vehicle and passed on the information to surrounding agencies. When the vehicle reached the Italy City Limits, the Italy PD officer, along with a DPS Trooper located and stopped the vehicle and after a brief search, located over 12 kilograms of packaged cocaine hidden in the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Raul Robles (32 yoa), and a passenger, identified as Maria Ness (54 yoa), were both arrested on drug charges and were booked into the Ellis County Jail where they were arraigned.
