Italy High School Principal, Lee Joffre, welcomed 7th grade through 12th grade students and parents to Meet the Teacher Night on Wednesday and presented a slide show to a packed Band Hall as part of the introduction to the 2012-2013 school year.

The parents and students then followed the student’s schedules, in six minute intervals, to meet the teachers waiting inside the classrooms. Students received handouts regarding each course syllabus.

Parents that attended the event also received a 10 point voucher to help a student improve one grade on a quiz, test or an assignment during the school year.

Along the way, everyone enjoyed perusing at the new trophy cases installed to replace the lockers along the schools main hallway. The classrooms themselves were already decorated to help inspire students as the teachers beamed with excitement while laying out their plans for the upcoming year.

Guests could definitely feel a positive vibe while navigating the hallways in anticipation of what is to come. Alumni parents of IHS were certainly excited to be sharing the moment with their children who are now following in their legendary footsteps. In many ways, it’s still old Italy High but the current student body marches to the beat of an award-winning band while forging their own paths toward graduation.

The school board members, faculty, maintenance crew and volunteers are to be congratulated on putting in the extra effort during the summer to afford the students a great facility in which to learn and achieve.

School begins Monday, August 27. Good luck, to the seniors and to all the students who are representing our school colors this year!

Gold and White forever!!
