Between August 19th and September 5th, including Labor Day weekend, law enforcement throughout Texas will be working overtime to detect and arrest drunk drivers. The Italy Police Department has pledged to keep drunk drivers off the road.

The Italy Police Department will join the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and law enforcement officials from across the state to kick off the annual campaign to reduce impaired driving during the Labor Day weekend. State troopers and local law officers will step up patrols and arrests of drunk drivers Aug. 19-Sept. 5.

The “Drink. Drive. Go to Jail.” campaign urges Texans to avoid a DWI conviction by using alternative means of transportation, such as calling a cab, designating a sober driver ahead of time, using public transportation, staying put, calling a friend or family member for a ride, taking a pedicab and more.
Texas leads the nation in drunk driving crashes and fatalities. That’s why thousands of state troopers and local law officers across Texas are stepping up patrols and arresting drunk drivers.
