It’s time to celebrate the gifts of life ~ especially the gifts we have in our own city of Italy, namely Andrea Hooker’s successful heart transplant. To celebrate this miracle, the Italy High School National Honor Society is sponsoring a blood drive this Saturday, September 22, from 10:00—3:00 at the IHS Dome.

By donating blood, Senior class members (Class of 2013) will be eligible for earning the honor of wearing an extra red cord at their May graduation ceremony. Seniors donating blood this week and also in the NHS’s spring blood drive will be presented the honor cord.

IHS students 17 years and older may donate blood without a parental consent form. Students 16 years of age may also donate blood with parental consent. Permission forms are available at both high school offices or see Mrs. Richards or Mrs. Margie Davis at school.

Citizens of Italy are welcomed and urged to come support this worthy cause. Carter Blood Care is sponsoring this event.
