Media release by the Italy Police Department regarding recent burglaries
The Italy Police Department is soliciting information from the public to help solve two separate burglaries that occurred last weekend.
The first burglary occurred at the Chinese Restaurant at 148 W Main St. The burglary occurred sometime between Saturday, September 22nd at 10:00pm and Sunday morning, September 23rd at 12:19am.
The owner of the business discovered the front glass door smashed and notified the police. Officers found that the suspect(s) had entered the restaurant and removed a bank bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash and several cold drinks from a cooler.
The second burglary occurred at a residence at 100 W Park. That burglary occurred on Sunday, September 23rd between 5:30pm and 9:30pm.
The homeowner came home to find that the back door had been forced open. The homeowner discovered that the suspect(s) had removed a large amount of property from the residence including; flat screen televisions, jewelry, video game consoles and games, weapons, and computers.
