Six Week Honor Awards Assembly at Avalon Elementary

When I walked into the gymnasium at Avalon Elementary you could hear all the cheers and hand clapping you could ever imagine. Everyone was there, teachers, moms, dads, aunts, uncles including fellow students cheering one another on.

Principal Jody Tennery was proudly calling name after name for all A’s, all A’s and B’s, Soaring Eagle Awards, Citizenship awards and AR awards. After each name was called you could hear all the students clapping and cheering for their fellow students. It was awesome to see the unity displayed between these students.

Even Avalon’s “Homecoming Queen,” all decked out in Avalon colors, Coach Ashley Montalbo came to support the students at their awards assembly. You couldn’t miss her if you tried! She sported orange hair, orange tutu, orange heels and topped it all off with her tiara.

Tennery said happily, “The students did great. I am so proud of them. They all worked very hard and it shows in all the awards we handed out today.”
