Four Arrested In Italy After Thanksgiving Day Fight
Italy Police Department and Ellis County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 761 Dale Evans Road at around 10:45am on Thanksgiving Morning after store employees reported a large fight and stabbing outside the business in the parking lot.
By the time officers arrived, all of the participants of the fight had fled the scene. The stabbing victim, identified as Edwin Wallace (33yoa of Italy), came back to the scene where he was treated and released at the scene for stab wounds by ETMC and Italy Fire.
The initial responding Italy Officer learned through the statements by Wallace that he, his brother Kenneth Wallace (35 yoa from Italy) and Dontavius Clemons (21 yoa from Italy) were fighting with an opposing group from Milford, which they have had numerous physical altercations with, in the past.
The Milford suspects were identified as Darius Love (22yoa from Milford), Julius Love (25 yoa from Milford) and Christopher Selman (24 yoa from Milford). The suspects left in an older model Gold/Tan Chevy Malibu. Julius Love was identified as the driver and it was reported that he struck another parked car in the parking lot during their escape. Wallace indicated in his statement that Christopher Selman was the one who stabbed him with a pair of scissors and also tried to run over him with the Malibu. The weapon was located at the scene by the responding officer.
Italy Police Department obtained warrants for the Milford suspects and responded to Milford with Ellis County SO, Texas DPS and Milford PD to serve the warrants. Darius and Julius Love were taken into custody for the warrants without incident. Julius Love was charged with Aggravated Assault w/.Deadly Weapon, Engaged in Organized Criminal Activity and Accident Involving Damage to Vehicle >$200.00. Darius Love was charged with Engaged in Organized Criminal Activity and Assault Causes Bodily Injury. Christopher Selman was not located and still has outstanding warrants for Aggravated Assault W/Deadly Weapon and Engaged in Organized Criminal Activity.
During the initial investigation and through statements by the suspects, Italy PD determined that that Edwin Wallace, Kenneth Wallace and Dontavius Clemons actively engaged in the physical altercation thus warrants were also obtained for them. The investigation also revealed that Edwin Wallace also attempted to persuade store employees to make the store surveillance video disappear, thus Tampering with Evidence.
Edwin Wallace was arrested on warrants for Engaged in Organized Criminal Activity, Aggravated Assault w/Deadly Weapon, Tampering With Evidence and Assault Causes Bodily Injury. Dontavius Clemons was arrested for Engaged in Organized Criminal Activity and Assault Causes Bodily Injury. Both were booked into the Ellis County Jail without incident. As of this date, Kenneth Wallace is still wanted for outstanding warrants for Engaged in Organized Criminal Activity and Assault Causes Bodily Injury.
