We all know that our little community in Italy, Texas has spirit especially when it comes to our Gladiators. But, our community also has the Christmas Spirit. If you have some free time you should get in your car and take a ride around our beautiful town after the sun has gone down. You will see the most beautiful Christmas scenes lit up all over town.

Christmas lights, Santa Claus, reindeer, and snowmen are everywhere. One of our residences really went all out and even has Christmas music playing from speakers in their yard. Another has the nativity scene set up under their very decorated windmill. And you have just got to see Santa Claus sitting in his chair waiting for the children to come sit in his lap.

Even some of the businesses in town are also in the spirit, such as The Magic Mirror. You should see their window displays. You have to go up to the front windows to get the full effect. One window has a very cozy scene of a gorgeous Christmas tree with presents complete with a fire place loaded with Christmas stockings and they even have snow on the ground. The other store front window has Santa Claus, poinsettias and Christmas trees galore.

Every year Italy has a Christmas lighting contest sponsored by Victron Energy. I am so glad I am not the judge. It will be such a hard decision to make this year as it is every year. Here is what the winners will receive:
