Poem recited at Stafford PTO meeting

Lots of business was taken care of at the PTO meeting Tuesday night at Stafford Elementary. Officer’s reports were given, Myla Wilson (principal) gave her report on the STAAR testing, new business was discussed and the plea for parents to help with projects was heard. But none of that could top the fourth graders that recited their Gladiator, Valentine and Martin Luther King poems.

Because of sickness not every fourth grade student could be present to recite their poems. But Destiny Harris, Rocklin Ginnett, Nick Dorazil and Kort Holley did a fine job reciting theirs.

Wait until you read these poems, you are in for a treat!

Martin
by Destiny Harris

Martin,
Loving ,Caring Brave,Helpful,
Son of Martin Luther King, Sr.
He loves to stand up for peoples rights.
He fears of people not having equal rights.
He gives speeches for everyone’s rights.
He would like blacks & Whites, learning hand in hand.
He lives in the heart of many.

Valentines Day
by Nick Dorazil

Valentines Day,
Hearts on the wall,
Love down the hall,
Smooching down stairs,
Cookies of a secret recipe,
Everyone hugs me,
Which is embarrassing,
Valentines Day!

Gladiators
by Kort Holley

Gladiators are fold,
Gladiators are bold,
Gladiators have spears,
Gladiators are feared,
Gladiators will score,
Gladiators win wars,
Gladiators will fight,
Gladiators are bright,
Gladiators are heroes of men,
Gladiators will win.

Gladiators
by Ty Beets

Gladiators never loose,
Gladiators never snooze,
Gladiators never fail,
Gladiators never bail,
Gladiators always win,
They will toss you in a bin.
Gladiators never run,
They will always have fun.

Valentines
by Haylee Mathers

Valentines
I see people kissing,
I smell perfume,
I hear people say I love you,
I taste chocolate,
And i touch the sticky candy,
And those are the five senses of Valentines.
