During the week of March 4, 2013 some Italy High School students will take the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) test or benchmark curriculum assessments. It is necessary to temporarily change the daily schedule in order to accommodate the testing needs. Testing information and schedule changes are reflected below.

Monday, March 4, 2013:

• Seniors & Juniors– ELA TAKS Test First Administration and Retest
  • Seniors who have passed the ELA TAKS will have late arrival at 11:30 AM
• Sophomore, Freshmen, 8th Grade & 7th Grade – ELA STAAR/EOC Reading Benchmark/Curriculum Assessment
  • Data from these tests will help teachers identify students who need additional remediation and prepare students to earn Advanced Performance

Tuesday, March 5, 2013:

• Seniors – Math TAKS Retest
  • Seniors who have passed the Math TAKS will have late arrival at 11:30 AM
• Juniors, Sophomore, Freshmen, 8th Grade & 7th Grade – Math STAAR/EOC Benchmark/Curriculum Assessment
  • Data from these tests will help teachers identify students who need additional remediation and prepare students to earn Advanced Performance

Wednesday, March 6, 2013:

• Seniors – Science TAKS Retest
  • There are no other changes to the schedule. The band participates in UIL competition. All classes will proceed on the regular schedule. No late arrival for any students.

Thursday, March 7, 2013:

• Seniors – Social Studies TAKS Retake
  • Seniors who have passed the Social Studies TAKS will have late arrival at 11:30 AM
• Juniors, Sophomore, Freshmen, 8th Grade & 7th Grade – Science STAAR/EOC Benchmark/Curriculum Assessment
  • Data from these tests will help teachers identify students who need additional remediation and prepare students to earn Advanced Performance

Friday, March 8, 2013:

• Seniors – College Field Trip to Navarro
  • Attendance will be recorded
• Juniors, Sophomore, Freshmen, 8th Grade & 7th Grade – Social Studies STAAR/EOC Benchmark/Curriculum Assessment
  • Data from these tests will help teachers identify students who need additional remediation and prepare students to earn Advanced Performance
• Early release was scheduled as part of the approved 2012 – 2013 schedule
  • Students will be released at 12:18 PM
