A Night To Remember is the theme of the Italy High School Junior/Senior prom to be held on Saturday, May 4. It will be held at the Waxahachie Civic Center in the Crepe Myrtle room. Principal Lee Joffre donned his tuxedo (rented from Lone Star Western Wear in Waxahachie) on Thursday to remind the students that the celebration is drawing near and to get their prom tickets.

Ms. Moreland and Mr. Joffre traveled to different classes throughout the day on Thursday to show the tux off and remind everyone it was time to purchase the prom tickets. Ms. Moreland said, “We are giving away four free prom tickets. Three were already given out, so there is one left to give. This inspires ticket sales.” There will be DJ El from Desoto who specializes in youth events. So, his music will be favorable to all age groups. The ticket price will also include refreshments and finger foods.

May 4th is coming quickly and, young man, it’s time to rent your tux. Lone Star Western Wear will rent to you and in turn will return a portion of the proceeds to benefit student activities at Italy High School. Mr. Joffre was able to rent and receive his tux within three days. Joffre’s vest and tie were bright orange, however, Lone Star has other colors to choose from if you prefer.

The Junior Class is hosting the prom, as they have for many years. The class started with $0 when school started and earned around $3000 for prom during many fundraising event during the year. They hosted bake sales, car washes and a tail gate party during Homecoming. The Flamingo-flock-in-your-yard was a fun opportunity to donate money to the class as well.
