The Italy Police Department is extending the deadline date for applications for the upcoming 2nd Citizens Police Academy Class. The new deadline is Friday, June 7th, 2013 by 5:00pm.

In order to get more applicants for the course, the start date for the Academy has been changed to June 20th, 2013 beginning at 6:00pm at the Italy Community Center located on Main Street. The course will be 10 consecutive classes, each on Thursdays from 6:00pm till 9:00pm. Attendees graduating the academy at the end of August will receive a certificate and class shirt.

Come help build a partnership with the Italy Police Department and community while learning about the police department and their practices. It will be fun and informative!

You do not have to be a citizen of Italy to participate…we welcome our Ellis County and surrounding city neighbors as well!
