Stafford Elementary and Italy High School has always had dedicated teachers. We have known that for a long time, so anything they do should not amaze me. But never the less they never cease to amaze me.

Jonathan Nash (Stafford Principal), Sue Mendoza, Kim Nelson, Tracy Williams, Rochelle Hellner, Jane Medrano, Paula Mandrell (all Stafford teachers) and Italy High School teachers Kim Watkins and Holly Bradley all attended the state math conference on Tuesday, July 9th. These teachers and Stafford principal gave up a little of their summer to gain new information on math concepts so they could better teach our kids.

Nr. Nash and newly hired teacher Sue Mendoza were speakers at the conference. The math conference allows teachers to attend workshop in order to gain new information on math concepts. Teachers across the state met in San Antonio that week to prepare for the upcoming year.

Nash proudly said, “When I became principal at Stafford, I recruited teachers to attend the state conference and I was met with excitement because Stafford teachers want to continue their learning in order to help kids.”

He went on to say that he hopes to bring more teachers to the conference next year being held in Fort Worth.
