Christie Hyles returns to Stafford Elementary as 2nd grade teacher
Christie is no stranger to Italy ISD. She has taught Pre-K through 6th grade Physical Education at Stafford and coached girls athletics at Italy High School. All in all she has taught eight years for Stafford Elementary and now is coming back to teach 2nd grade.
Christie stopped teaching because her first son was born. She now has three boys, Creighton, Chase and Caleb—all in school—and decided it was time for her to go back to school too.
Hyles graduated from Texas State University (formerly known as South West Texas University) with a degree in health and fitness and went on and got her teaching certificate at University of Texas in Arlington.
When asked if she always wanted to be a teacher Christie replied, “When I was little I always made my little brother play school and I was always the teacher! My Mom and Grandmother were all teachers and it seemed like a good career choice.”
When Christie is not in school you will find her and her husband Charles Hyles, of twelve years, spending time with the kids at the lake and doing any kind of outdoor activities.
“I think Stafford Elementary is a very good school, great faculty, the kids are great. It is such a close knit, family like enviroment. Everyone helps each other out. We are all on the same team and it shows,” explained Christie when asked what she thought of Stafford Elementary.
She went on to say, “I am very excited to come back and work with the kids again. I want them to be motivated to do their best and I want to be a part of their learning process.”
We are glad you are back Christie Hyles!
