Italy HS students celebrate with a Back-to-School Bash at the Lewis home
Italy — As the summer fades into fall, the entire Italy High School student body was invited to attend the Back-to-School Bash at the home of Kelly and Russ Lewis with daughter Jaclynn Lewis who will be a junior this year.
Hamburgers and hotdogs were served up by Larry Mayberry, Sr., Mr. Lewis and Larry Eubank. A raised deck area was perfect for dancing on stage with John Mathers as the D.J. who later used a fog machine to set the mood during an upbeat tune. Great music, revolving and flashing lights enhanced the night as the deck held a constant flow of dancers throughout the evening.
Assistant football coach Bobby Campbell rocked out with the kids, principal Lee Joffre jitterbugged with his wife Cassi Joffre and AD/HFC Charles Tindol and his wife Nicole Tindol cut a rug for a few songs. Mr. Lewis also two-stepped with Jaclynn for a special father-daughter moment.
Nearby was the swimming pool where students enjoyed friendly competition by playing basketball in the water while others lounged on the deck furniture. Faculty members also sat at tables and visited while enjoying the goings-on.
Students also enjoyed horseshoes, volleyball, mingling with school mates and last, but not least, ping-pong which is a favorite among the students.
Special thanks to the Lewis Family for once again hosting the Back-to-School Bash and good luck to all our students who will be representing Italy HS in 2013-2014!
