On Saturday, October 26th, the citizens of Italy are encouraged to come together and help clean up the town.

There will be large dumpsters available for City of Italy residents that will be located between the water department and Family Dollar. The dumpster will be open from 7:00am till 11:00am or until the dumpsters are full. Residents will need to bring a recent water bill as proof of residency before they will be allowed to dump trash.

Tires will be accepted for disposal at the dump site, but there will be a charge of $1.10 per tire for passenger car size tires and $5.50 per tire for Semi-Truck size tires. Fees will be due upon receipt of the tires.

The following items will be restricted at the dump site:

  • Paint cans containing paint
  • Batteries
  • Tree Limbs and Brush
  • Any Hazardous Materials

Any household appliance that would have contained Freon must be tagged indicating that the Freon was properly removed.

For residents who do not have the ability to get trash to the dumpsters, DCI will pick up items curbside. Residents must contact DCI Sanitation at (972)646-5461 for large item pick up. Restricted items will apply to curbside pickup, so please make sure you do not have any restricted items.

The city is asking for help from individuals, church groups, organizations and anyone else to meet at the Downtown City Pavilion at 8:00am to organize cleanup crews. Crews will be sent to locations around town to pick up trash and debris. Helpers will be furnished gloves and trash bags. Helpers are encouraged to bring trucks and trailers to help pick up full trash bags and debris to haul to the dump site.
