The Italy Lady Gladiators return to the playoffs for the second consecutive season and will challenge Era for the bi-district championship on Tuesday, February 11, at 7:30 p.m. at Saginaw Boswell.

Lady Gladiator Update:
The Lady Gladiators (varsity girls) will not be playing tomorrow in a seeding tournament against Itasca. Instead, Italy will enter the first round of the UIL 1A basketball playoffs as a third seed. Italy is scheduled to challenge Era on Tuesday, February 11, in a 7:30 p.m. game to be played at Saginaw Boswell for the bi-district championship.

This marks the second consecutive season the Lady Gladiators have reached the basketball playoffs with this being Melissa Fullmer’s second season as head coach of the Lady Gladiators and with this being the 9th season for Tina Richards as an assistant coach. Era was their district’s runner-up.

These changes were based on a series of coin flips that took place earlier this evening after Itasca beat Gateway in Alvarado tonight in Alvarado. Coach Fullmer attended the game and was able to partake in the subsequent coin flips immediately afterwards.

Gladiator Update:
As a result, the Gladiators (varsity boys), head coached by Brandon Ganske and assisted by Jon Cady, will still play tomorrow, Friday, February 7, in an away district game against the Arlington Summit SkyHawks but that game has been moved up to 6:30 p.m.

Go Italy!
