The Lady Gladiators game out on top in a pre-season battle against the 5A Richardson Berkner Lady Rams Tuesday night in Richardson. It was a 0-0 ball game thru the 4th inning with Italy crossing home plate in the top of the 5th. Final score was Italy 1 – Berkner 0.

The lone run, Tara Wallis, crossed the plate by a Bailey Eubank RBI.

Sophomore Lillie Perry is continuing to earn her keep at the plate going two for three at the plate and splattering balls all over the outfield. “Hit squad” members April Lusk, Bailey Eubank, Madison Washington, Paige Westbrook (with a double) and Tara Wallis all got hits in the contest against Berkner.

Jaclynn Lewis performed well in the circle for the Lady Gladiators with 10 strikeouts, allowing only three hits.

The Lady Gladiators will travel to Woodsboro for a three day tournament this week and next weekend (February 28-March 1) will be in Hillsboro for a two day tournament there.
