The Flying Dollar Ranch in Italy is proud to offer ART at the RANCH beginning Thursdays in March! Students will learn to draw and paint real animals, landscape scenery, and still life and learn to use different techniques with charcoal, pencil and watercolors.

Classes will be instructed by professional Anne Weary, a “Plein Air Landscape Artist” and certified teacher. Anne’s art work is represented and sold by Valley House Gallery in Dallas. She also has art work in several permanent collections in Texas museums. She graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. Anne lives on a small farm near Waxahachie and is currently working on a series of paintings and drawings of creek scenery at her farm.

Art classes begin on Thursday, March 20. 4:45-6:00pm is 2nd-5th graders and 6:15-7:30 is 6th-12th graders. Adult and pre-k classes will be added if enough people are interested. One four week session is $75 which includes materials or $20 for single day drop ins. Students need to bring a good multi-purpose paper drawing sketch pad approximately 14X17. Students will be working both indoors and outdoors so they should dress appropriately and wear sun screen and bug spray if needed. Outdoor chairs will be provided but students can bring their own fold up chair if they would like.

To register for art class, please contact Anne Weary directly at 214-534-8863 or [email protected]. The classes will be located at the Flying Dollar Ranch barn at 230 Chambers Drive, Italy, in the Chambers Meadow neighborhood. “Art Ranch” is also making plans for half-day art camps this summer.
