During the December City Council Regular Meeting, the City Council unanimously approved the installation of additional traffic control signs to help reduce the possibility of traffic collisions at potentially dangerous intersections.

In an effort to make the installation process effective and safe, the City of Italy would like to notify the public that the signs will be erected on Thursday, February 27th. The location and type of sign will be:

• A stop sign will be installed on the northbound extension of Main Street to Couch Street (the stop sign at northbound Couch Street approaching the extension will be removed, thus allowing continuous traffic flow on Couch Street)
• A yield sign will be installed at westbound Main Street as it approaches HWY 34 (towards downtown.
• A stop sign will be installed at Couch Street as it intersects with Travis Street.
