Stafford Elementary principal, Pamela Thomas drops the eggs
Miss Westrick (6th grade science teacher) came up with a great idea to help the students learn and at the same time have a great time.
Miss Westrick said, “The student’s were to create something that would absorb the energy the egg gathers as it accelerates towards the ground. A hard surface will crack the egg so they had to think carefully about how they could protect it. They had to make something that will cushion the egg at the end of its fall because they wanted the egg to decelerate slowly so it didn’t crack or smash all over the ground.”
And keep the eggs safe they did! There were only a few that didn’t make it. The eggs were to be kept safe while being dropped from the 18’ high roof of Stafford Elementary. The students came up with all kinds of creative designs such as parachutes, airplanes and many more.
Who was the lucky one to be on top of the roof dropping the eggs? None other than Stafford Elementary principal Pamela Thomas! And she did it with quite the flare and smiling the whole time.
Another great day of learning and fun at Stafford Elementary.
