Why Are These Students Not in School?!!!!
You may notice during lunch time that several senior students are going to local restaurants. These are students who have met a Gold Performance standard. One of the incentives for reaching Gold Performance standard is off-campus lunch.
Principal Joffre started The Gold Performance incentive in 2013. Seniors who have an attendance rate of 95% or higher, take a College Readiness exam, pass all of the state exams, and maintain good behavior will receive a Gold Performance Card. The card allows students free entrance to games, free on campus parking, 3 tardy passes per semester, and off-campus lunch. When students earn the cards, the school gets parent permission to give the incentives.
Principal Joffre discusses with the students the importance of appropriate behavior and driving safely while in the community when they earn the incentive.
If you see any of these students out during lunch congratulate them for being a Gold Performance student at Italy High School.
