IHS students to attend Navarro Career Expo

Italy High School students in grades in 9-12 will be attending the Navarro Career Expo tomorrow. Navarro College plans the Expo to provide career option information to high school students throughout the area. Italy High School has been participating in this event for three years and it has become part of the District & Campus Improvement Plans.

Mayor McClanahan of the City of Corsicana has planned an emergency management drill to ensure lines of communication are working appropriately in case the Ebola virus directly affects Corsicana. The emergency management drill will take place tomorrow during the Navarro Career Expo and may involve Navarro College employees.

Dennis Perkins, the Career & Technical Advisor for Navarro College, has informed Mr. Joffre that the community-wide drill will not affect the students at the career expo.

Mr. Joffre is communicating this information to you so your family will not be alarmed should your child see activity or hear information about the Ebola virus during the drill.

Appreciation is given to the City of Corsicana and Navarro College for informing us of this information prior to the start of the event.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact Mr. Joffre, Italy High School principal (972/483-7411).
