The Lady Gladiators remain undefeated in district after win over Dallas Gateway

Italy — The Lady Gladiators of Italy are 3-0 in district with their win over the Lady Gators of Gateway Charter Academy Friday night. The 70-54 win improved their record to 21-7 for the season.

Emmy Cunningham’s scored first to give her team the lead and Italy never relinquished that lead. All of Italy’s players worked together on both sides of the ball to net the win and did it with class and sportsmanship.

Kortnei Johnson hit four hoops in a row early in the game to give Italy a 10-4 lead. She scored 14 of her 29 points in the first quarter. The quarter ended with Italy leading 21-13.

In the 2nd, Emmy Cunningham came on strong with layups, jumpers and three pointers to score 11 of her 27 points. She hit four 3-pointers in the game.
