The Silver Spurs 4-H Club of Ellis County horse judging team added another placing at a major show to their list of 2015 successes while winning the 4th place overall junior team at the Houston Stock Show Horse Judging competition on March 9. Thirty seven teams and 107 individuals challenged their skills at judging horses in the events of halter, stock horse, western riding, hunt seat equitation, and hunter under saddle at the event held at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy.

Team members included Jacob Ingram of Waxahachie, Alyssa Ingram of Waxahachie, Parys Bishop of Blooming Grove, Autumn Wells of Waxahachie and alternate Meagan Newsom of Palmer. Jacob Ingram also earned honors as 7th place overall individual and 14th in reasons. Autumn Wells also earned individual plaque awards for placing 9th overall individual and 16th in reasons.

This accomplishment comes just two weeks after a Silver Spurs 4-H team of slightly different members won the San Antonio Stock Show.

“We are very proud of the hard work and dedication of these 4-H’ers and their family members,” said horse judging coach Monica Bishop.
