Calling All Cancer Survivors and Caregivers

The Relay For Life of Central Ellis County extends a special invitation to all cancer survivors and caregivers to attend this year’s Relay on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Waxahachie Sports Complex. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at Robbie E. Howard Eighth Grade Center, 265 Broadhead Road in Waxahachie.

The committee will honor all survivors and caregivers with a meal at 5:00 p.m. Relay will officially start at 6:00 p.m. and the Survivors’ Lap at 6:30. Being able to celebrate by walking the Survivor Lap is very empowering for cancer survivors.

Immediately following the survivor lap will be a special lap for caregivers. Having a support system of caregivers is so important for someone that is fighting cancer. Being able to cheer their caregivers on as they walk the track is important — it is a special way to say thank you.

Relay For Life offers the unique opportunity for cancer survivors and caregivers to be recognized and supported. Each event hosts special events and activities, many throughout the year, so survivors and their caregivers can connect and know there is a strong support system available to them.

To register as a cancer survivor or caregiver, please contact JoAnn Smith at 972-754-8663 or register the night of the event.
