Each year the Texas Library Association nominates 20 books for willing students to read and then vote on their favorite of the 20. Students must read a minimum of 5 books to vote, but can choose to read all 20. This year, a few Stafford students were able to cast their votes with 100s of other students across the state of Texas.

Avid readers Ella Hudson and Hanah Krusen of the fourth grade and one fifth grader represented Stafford in this year’s Bluebonnet vote. The Texas Library Association tallied the votes and determined that this year’s book award goes to When the Beat was Born by Laban Carrick Hill. We look forward to more student participants in the future.
