The school year of 2015 and 2016 is the first year that Avalon ISD has had a FFA program since the 1930’s.

The members have been learning and working on ways to better themselves and their community.

Since the beginning of the year the members have participated in the Children’s Barnyard at the Fort Worth Stock Show, Adopt-A-Highway cleanup program, and have landscaped the front of the Ellis County Expo Center.

The Officers; President- Delaney Sauers, Vice President- Ryan Ozymy, Treasurer- Emily Tredaway, Sentinel- Shacota Trotter, Secretary- Nikki Stacks, Reporter- Carlee Wafer have participated in the Jumpstart program at Ford Headquarters in Plano for newly developed chapters, and the Opening Ceremonies at the Ellis County Show this year.

Also, all of the Avalon FFA members have been working and planning for a successful first annual FFA banquet.

The first annual banquet will be held May 20, 2016 in the J.P. Griffith gym at 6:00 p.m. with a live band and silent auction.

We appreciate all of the support that has been given to us over the past year and are thankful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on students through Agriculture.
