Donations needed to construct 6 trophy cases to line Italy High School’s hallway
“The Trophy Case Project,” will provide 6 trophy cases to replace lockers along the main hallway inside Italy High School. Donations of $100.00 or more will be recognized with a personalized name plate added to one of the trophy cases.
Project Update — This project is only $3,000 short of necessary funds as of July 18, 2012. Donations are still needed.
It’s time to pull out trophies and and other reminders of Italy High School’s historic past that have been tucked away in storage closets, cardboard boxes and hidden out of view of students and combine them with the the achievements of current and future student award winners.
“The Trophy Case Project,” will allow the students to be inspired by the accomplishments from Gladiators and Lady Gladiators of yester-year while showcasing current and future student achievements, as well.
The lockers that line the main hallway will be replaced with new multi-tiered trophy cases in an effort to bring the trophies and plaques into view of the students and the community.
“The trophies in the gymnasium are seldom seen by students during the school day which defeats one of the main purposes of a trophy case, to inspire,” explained current IHS principal Lee Joffre. “As well as, Athletics, we also need space to display awards and recognize all of our student organizations, such as our Band, FFA, FCCLA, etc., that have little to no space to showcase their amazing accomplishments.”
There will also be a section allotted which will honor past achievements of Stafford High School students that merged with Italy High School long ago.
Donations are needed to help the “Trophy Case Project” take shape. Supply donations will be appreciated, as well, and the supplies needed are listed below.
