On May 14th, 2009 in the Multi-Purpose Center, Avalon Elementary proudly presented the following acts for the Talent Show:

  • “HipHop to the Alphabet” & “Clapping Machine” featuring Ms. Nelson’s Pre-K (4th place)
  • “The Five Little Monkeys” & “God Bless America” songs featuring Mrs. Morrison’s Pre-K3 (5th place)
  • “Snow White” featuring Ms. Durrett’s Kingergarten (2nd place)
  • Magic Show featuring Rody Meier & Kaleb Arnold from 1st grade
  • “A Day in the life of 4th grade” Comedy Act featuring Mr. Morgan’s 4th grade
  • “Island Beach Luau” singing/dancing act featuring Mrs. Low’s Kindergarten (3rd place)
  • Cheerleading Routine featuring Kaylea Davis, Aleiya Morin, Jacqueline Lopez, * Angelina Covarrubias, Emely Salazar, Kandyce Bones, Kelsey Bones from 1st grade
  • “Are you smarter than a 5th grader?” Comedy Act featuring Ms. Matous’s 5th grade
  • Karate featuring Christopher Trammel, Miguel Padron, Payton Whiteside, James Reeves, Devin Lara, Andres Rodriguez from 1st grade
  • “School House Rock” featuring Mrs. Hernandez & Mrs. Pustejovsky’s 2nd grade classes
  • “Third Grades got Talent” dancing act featuring Mrs. Grimes 3rd grade (1st place)
  • Cheerleading Routine featuring Skylar Roath & Mahkayla Jones from 1st grade

All of the students and teachers worked very hard on their performances and did a wonderful job. Our community is very proud of each of you.

The parents from the Avalon ISD would like to thank Mrs. Low and her many helpers for the hard work and planning that she put into coordinating this show. The entire center was packed with appreciative parents and friends.

The judges were Mrs. Denise Wimbish, Ms. Julie Carter, Mrs. Patty Hernandez & Mrs. Alice Compton who all went above and beyond to make the night a huge success. A big thanks to Ms. Matous’s 5th grade class for their help with artwork, Melissa Gill and the 11th grade junior class for operating the concession stand.
