Another Easter Party has come and gone, and my, how I look forward to next year‘s event!
Another Easter Party has come and gone, and my, how I look forward to next year‘s event!
Saturday morning at the S.M. Dunlap Library in Italy about 9:00 a.m. you could see so many smiles and hear so much laughter coming from all of the children waiting to hunt eggs. The eggs were everywhere. There were so many eggs that some of the children’s baskets were over flowing.
Pablo Jacinto has donated the book Medal Of Honor: Portraits Of Valor Beyond The Call Of Duty to the Library, in honor of all the men and women who have served their country.
I’d like to invite the children of Italy and their parents to the 29th Annual Dunlap Library Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7, at 9 o’clock. Children up to nine are invited to join us for a morning of family fun.
We recently lost Vonda Jacinto; wife of Pablo, Mother to Kay, and friend to many. Several books have been donated in her memory. From the Tommy Rossa Family: Created To Be God’s Friend: How God Shapes Those He Loves. From the Boriskie Family, Heaven Is For Real, by Todd Burpo, and The Illustrated Guide To The Bible, by J.R. Porter.
I’ve heard from three different patrons who have friends or relatives in the midwest, that these folks are already wearing sweaters and hoodies! So, cool weather is headed in our direction. Hooray!!! Here’s some of our newest books to chill out with…
Since it’s too hot to get out, here’s a cool idea…grab a good book, a glass of iced tea and a comfy chair (preferably under a fan), and go to another time or place with a new book. Here’s some of our newest selections…

A message and a gift from our one time neighbor, Margaret Smotherman. Mrs. S. lived across the street from the library for many years and is now residing in Houston. She misses Italy, and she misses all her old friends. She posted two Large Print books, Standing In The Rainbow, by Fannie Flagg and Just Rewards, by Barbara Taylor Bradford as gifts to the library for all her friends to enjoy. We miss you Mrs. S….and your lovely British accent!

New books at the Library.
Several wonderful new books are available for your reading pleasure at the Dunlap Library. So light the fire, make some hot chocolate and wrap up in a cozy blanket because the stories you are about to read are, at times, bone chilling.
We will have, from time to time, guest reviewers of popular new books at the Library. I’d like to introduce our first book reviewers, the Brothers Garcia (also know as Eli and Isacc). They are the sons of Albert and Davee Garcia and the brothers of Adela Jean. These lads simply tore through the book collection this summer and it was a wonderful thing to see, indeed!
