Avalon Water Supply and Sewer Service Corp. formally closes eminent domain issue

In their monthly meeting on October 10, 2013, the Avalon Water Supply and Sewer Service Corp. board voted to formally close eminent domain for the property surrounding the wastewater plant, approved previous minutes/financial report, heard reports from the General Manager and Operations Manager and addressed members concerns.

Avalon Water and Sewer Service Corporation elects directors

The Avalon Water and Sewer Service Corporation (AWSSC) held their annual and monthly meeting on Thursday night. Directors Jimmy Brown, Denice Wimbish, Manuel Rodriguez and Rickey Johnston were present; David Waishes, Robin Donaldson, and Jeremy Langley were absent. Denice Wimbish and Manuel Rodriquez were re-elected to the board with 62 total votes cast.

The Avalon Water and Sewer Service Corporation (AWSSC) met Thursday evening for their regular scheduled meeting. Topics for discussion were sewer and plant upgrade updates, health insurance for Gregg Rodriguez, employee time off, work orders, TCEQ letter on sampling requirement, signature cards for all banks, USDA operating budget information, land appraisal and a legal brief concerning waste water treatment site.

Topics for discussion were on the purchase of Gillespie land, hiring another meter reader, hiring an attorney, health insurance for Gregg Rodriguez, sewer update and appointing John Goodwyn’s replacement for vice president on the board.
