Italy stars as movie backdrop for Italian based clothing line; watch video here

Wild Souls in the Hot, Blind Earth:
Producer Jason Baum, with Doomsday Entertainment out of Los Angeles, spearheaded operations to produce a short film for 55dsl, an Italian based fashion company, in the hopes of using the City of Italy as majestic backdrop during filming. The film, along with still photos, are currently being used for advertising purposes to promote the 55dsl clothing line worldwide and was filmed right here in Italy in early November 2012.
The film is currently being utilized across the web and will play on a loop inside Diesel® store locations with 55dsl being part of the Diesel® clothing collection. Baum and his colleagues, with many flying in from as far off as London and Italy, Rome to assist in the shoot, rallied the citizens of Italy to be a part of the collaborative effort with locals allowing access to their homes and properties. Our modest tiny town provided the setting for director Aoife McArdle’s creation entitled, “Italy, Texas,” as actors display a spiritual love for animals while helping to promote 55dsl apparel.

Following on from the FW12 collaboration with directors CANADA and the film “Beyond Mountains, More Mountains”, the creativity continues in 2013, however this time 55DSL has ventured overseas to discover the Italian essence in new frontiers. 55DSL proudly presents their next short film for Spring / Summer ’13 – shot in its entirety in the blazing hot plains of the U.S.A. – entitled Italy, Texas.
For this daring departure from Italian soil, 55DSL enlisted talented filmmaker Aoife McArdle. And in the small town of Italy, Texas, not far from Dallas, the acclaimed Irish born director found the perfect setting to tell a story of unique and unconventional friendships. A celebration of creativity inspired by the new 55DSL collection. For two weeks this other Italy became the film set and its wonderful residents – including their pets – were the stars.
