Lady Gladiator Volleyball schedule change

The Lady Gladiators and Frost Lady Polar Bears will play on Friday, October 25. This matchup was originally scheduled for Saturday, October 26. Varsity will play at 4:00 with JV immediately following. Make plans to come out to the dome Friday afternoon and support these hard working Lady Gladiators.

Stafford PTO selling Gladiator Spirit Ribbons

The Stafford PTO will be selling spirit ribbons for this weeks game against the Crossroads Bobcats. Ribbons will be sold for $.75. On Saturday, September 14th, students from the Hillsboro Unified Tae Kwon Do School-125 W Elm-Hillsboro, Texas tested for new belts. This testing included students from Italy and Milford — Nick Sam, Michael Gonzalez, Michael Russell of Italy; Mario Perez and Isamar Perez both of Milford.

IYAA football and cheerleading splits wins with Mildred

Every year the IYAA says goodbye to its veterans and welcomes in a new group of young Gladiators, but one thing has always remained the same, team spirit never fades and this year’s football players and cheerleaders certainly carried the torch against Mildred on Saturday.

Jon Cady motivates students to engage in learning

Jon Cady is a new math teacher at Italy High School. He is also the new head baseball coach and an assistant football and basketball coach. Prior to coming to Italy, he was a teacher/coach at Mason, Buffalo and Mansfield. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a degree in Kinesiology.

Bobby Campbell teaches life lessons to his students

Bobby Campbell is enjoying his first year on staff at Italy High School. In addition to teaching technology, health and leadership, he is also an assistant football coach, head power lifting coach and head track coach. Prior to coming to Italy, he was a teacher/coach for five years in Itasca, two years in Fairfield, eight years in McGregor and eight years in Temple.

When Morgan Mathews was hired as a teacher and the new Head Volleyball Coach at Italy High School, she brought expertise, energy and excitement with her. She wants her students and athletes to live up to their potential while having fun and working hard. She wants them to do their best and live for the moment because that moment only comes around once.

Italy’s JH/JV Gladiators leave it all out on Willis Field against Sunnyvale

Italy — The Gladiator 7th grade squad appeared to be on their way to a shutout victory after two touchdown runs by workhorse Jonathan Salas, and a 2-point conversion catch by Chasston Wilson seemed to all but end Sunnyvale’s chances. Italy lead 14-0 with just 2:59 left in the opening game of a triple-header Thursday night at Italy’s historic Willis Field.

Waxahachie — Italy’s AD/HFC Charles Tindol, his staff, the players, the band and flag corp, the cheerleaders, the water boys, the film crew, the Stat Squad girls and the rest of Gladiator Nation settled in this past Friday night inside Waxahachie’s Stuart B. Lumpkins Stadium to enjoy the sights and sounds of the 2nd Annual Dale Hansen Football Classic.

Italy Junior High Volleyball Parent Meeting Scheduled

There will be a parent meeting for Italy Junior High Volleyball will be on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 6:30 pm in the dome. This meeting will discuss practice times, expectations of players and give parents the opportunity to ask questions about the upcoming volleyball session.  If you are unable to attend this meeting please contact one of the coaches so that we may get you the information needed.

Lady Gladiator Volleyball to compete in tournaments hosted in Blooming Grove

Lady Gladiator Volleyball (varsity, JV as well as a freshman squad) will travel to Blooming Grove to participate in tournaments over the next two weekends. The varsity will play on Thursday, August 29th and Saturday, August 31st and the JV and 9th grade squads will play on Thursday, September 5 and Saturday, September 7th. Attached are complete brackets for both weekends.

Lady Gladiator Junior High Volleyball schedule for 2013

The Lady Gladiator Junior High Volleyball squads will begin preparation for their upcoming season once school starts next Monday. To help all of the parents and faithful fans of Lady Gladiator Junior High Volleyball the coaches have released the schedule. Their first game will be on Monday, September 9, 2013 at home against Bynum.
