On Saturday, May 18th, 2013, Italy school and city leaders have planned a downtown Italy parade to honor state record breaking track sprinter, Kortnei Johnson along with state qualifying runners, Halee Turner, Ryisha Copeland and Kendra Copeland. Parade time is 10:00am. Also included in the parade will be a send off for the Gladiator Baseball team as they head out to battle Trenton in game two of a best of three series for the regional quarter-final title. The entire community is welcome to come and hail these outstanding young athletes.

Gladiator Baseball has schedule change due to SAT testing

Coach Ward wants to make everyone aware that the double header planned for tomorrow has been reduced to one game with a start time of 1:00pm. Due to SAT testing, the Dawson squad will not be available but for one afternoon game. It will be gorgeous weather, so make plans to support our Gladiators tomorrow, Saturday, April 13 at 1:00pm when they take on the Dawson Bulldogs.

Thank you from Coach Hank Hollywood

I would like to thank the town folk who generously donated money for Ryheem Walker’s FCA All-Star Football Game program page. Your immediate response was quick and overwhelming. I honestly believe it takes a village to raise a child and your generous donations were a testament to that statement.

Italy — The Lady Gladiators defeated Grand Prairie Advantage 22-0 earlier in district play and coasted to a victory in the rematch with Italy winning again, 13-0. A two run double by Tara Wallis, an RBI double by Alyssa Richards who knocked in 3 runs and scored once, a 2 RBI double by Paige Westbrook and an RBI triple by Kelsey Nelson separated Italy who led early and continued building on their lead throughout. Along with the RBI, Nelson crossed home plate 3 times for Italy’s cause.

Hamilton comes thru with a walk off RBI to help Italy defeat Frost 3-2

Italy — The Italy Gladiator baseball boys get a stellar performance form senior pitcher Caden Jacinto who led his club to a vital district win over the Frost Polar Bears. Jacinto went the entire game on the mound recording 11 strikeouts while freshman catcher Ryan Connor came through with a solid effort for head coach Josh Ward and assistant coach Brian Coffman.
