First Baptist Church of Italy is setting sail for Vacation Bible School fun on the HIGH SEAS! Kids will feel the sea spray on their face as sails snap overhead. They’ll experience the deep rolling waters of God’s love. It’s easily the best time they will have all summer. It’s five solid evenings of activities for the children of Italy. The Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church would like to invite everyone to join them in what will be the start of an explosive worship service through Vacation Bible School. The First Baptist Church Women’s Missionary Auxiliary (WMA) is collecting items for Christmas Shoebox Gifts, a project of Children Helping Children, a division of Baptist Medical Missions International (BMMI).

On Saturday, June 5, the Union Missionary Baptist Church will be sponsoring a Daddy-Daughter Dance. This formal dance will be held at the Italy High School beginning at 7:00pm. Admission will be $20 per couple. Fathers and Grandfathers alike are invited to escort their young ladies to this memorable occasion.

A new ranch is coming to Italy and it is exclusively for kindergarten through 6th grade age children. Central Baptist Church is hosting Saddle Ridge Ranch, this year’s Vacation Bible School. Saddle Ridge Ranch will be held June 14 – 18, 2010 from 9:45 a.m. to noon at Central Baptist Church, 113 S. Ward Street in Italy.

Eric Enriquez is the Youth Director at First Baptist Church in Avalon. Over the last year, the youth department has grown by leaps and bounds. They meet every Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. at the church on S. Giles in Avalon.

The Royal Ambassadors of Central Baptist Church enjoyed a night of fellowship, fun and friendly competition at the annual R.A. Racers event on April 14, 2010. A total of 18 cars were entered in the race and there were approximately 75 people in attendance to cheer for their favorite car.

Today, in front of the Uptown Cafe in downtown Italy, the Avalon Baptist Church is having a bake sale to raise money to fund a trip for 24 of their youngsters hoping to go to church camp at the Heart of Texas Baptist Encampment in Brownwood, Texas June 28 thru July 2.

Carrie McDonnall, modern-day, persecuted Christian missionary, has been invited to speak at Central Baptist Church on Sunday, April 11, at the 10:45 a.m. service. Carrie is also the nationally recognized author of Facing Terror, the true story of how love for the Muslim people cost an American couple the ultimate price for their faith. Carrie will speak about her missionary experiences in Iraq and the personal tragic and devastating results to her, her husband, and to 3 coworkers.

Pastor Algua R. Isaac, church family and friends gathered at the Union Missionary Baptist Church on Williams Street on Saturday morning to hold a dedication service for their new church. The new site is located on Derrs Chapel Road across from the Trinity Mission Health and Rehab.

The Italy Ministerial Alliance invites all of the Italy Community to the Easter Sunrise Service Sunday, April 4, 2010, 7:00 a.m. The service will take place at the Reeves’ property south of town known as ‘Dripping Springs’.

The Royal Ambassadors and their leaders from Central Baptist Church in Italy, Texas, are getting ready to pack another “Bucket of Hope” for Haiti earthquake victims. After filling the buckets, the RAs prayed for the people who would receive the food as well as for the safety of those responsible for transporting and delivering them.

Earlier in the year, the Italy Ministerial Alliance voted unanimously that the local food pantry be called the William Youngblood Food Pantry. The plaque was ordered and delivered. Officially, the sign hangs above the pantry door for all to see.

The Baptism Service for Kyle Rea Rudd will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 124 Harpold Street, Italy, on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 10:50 a.m. Kyle Rea Rudd was born on October 6, 2009 in Dallas to parents Kerri and Justin Rudd of Italy.

Central Baptist Church invites everyone to their Christmas Cantata on Saturday, December 19th at 7:00pm. Titled God Speaking: Throughout the ages…and still today, this dramatic Christmas musical will be performed by the combined choirs of Central Baptist Church of Italy and Ferris Baptist Fellowship of Ferris.

The City of Italy’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Sunday, December 6 at the Cornerstone in downtown Italy included the singing of Christmas carols, hot chocolate and prayers as the Italy Ministerial Alliance and the City of Italy pray that you and your family have a most joyous Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Mt. Zion AME Church, located at 733 Hardeman Street in Italy, is Calling All Senior Citizens to join them for their “Senior Saints High Noon Worship Service.” Each year, Mt. Zion AME Church honors the Senior Saints of our community. Please come and join the fellowship with one another.

Brother Walter Buchanan, pastor of the Italy Church of Christ, announced they will host a revival beginning Sunday, July 26 through Wednesday, July 29, and everyone is invited. “There will be old fashioned singing and fellowship,” Buchanan commented. Visiting author and evangelist, Don Deffenbaugh, will be preaching.

The First United Methodist Church of Italy is hosting vacation bible school Friday-Sunday and invites all Pre-K to 6th grade students to participate.

The Central Baptist Church in Italy began its Vacation Bible School Boot Camp Tuesday. There was singing under the cross, marching in the hallways and soldiers everywhere were coloring, decorating canteens and playing games.

Boot Camp is coming! Central Baptist Church, 113 S. Ward in Italy, is sponsoring Vacation Bible School and the theme is boot camp this year. Train to be in God’s Army June 22-26, 2009 from 9:00 to noon.

Senior students from Italy High School enjoyed Mexican pile-ons at Central Baptist on Thursday. The graduates practiced for graduation and then made a bee-line for lunch. This is a tradition with the church and this year is no exception.

The Italy High School seniors and Principal Scott Herald spent a pleasurable evening at Union Baptist Church of Italy on Wednesday night. The church hosted a hot dog supper in their beautiful fellowship hall and the students appreciated a message from the pastor.

The Italy Church of Christ hosted a luncheon on Wednesday for the graduating seniors of IHS. Brother Walter Buchanan of Italy Church of Christ and his congregation invited the students for hot dogs and melt-in-your mouth homemade cookies. The seniors obliged their hosts and enjoyed their meal.

The sounds of the Beach Boys and Elvis singing Blue Hawaii trickled through the halls of First Baptist Church of Italy on Tuesday night. The seniors were eating chicken, wearing their beach clothes and bowling Hawaiian style.

OK, it’s time for some ice cream! That’s what the IHS seniors said on Monday as they gathered at the First United Methodist Church. This is the first of many parties held for the graduates this week.

As you drove up to the Epiphany Catholic Church in Italy, Texas your ears were delighted by lively music, just as your eyes were mesmerized by beautifully costumed dancers.

Saturday night around 6:00 Mount Zion AME Church was filled with people, music and fun. The Musical workshop was in full swing.

Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church will be hosting a Youth Choir Musical on Saturday, April 25th at 6:00 PM. This is the place to be to sing praises to the Lord. Mittie Muse is the new Pastor of Mt. Zion and is very excited about this program.

On Sunday, April 19, 2009, the Kayrene Uehlinger Scholarship was presented to Tyler Boyd during the morning worship at Central Baptist Church in Italy. This is the second year that the Class of 1968 has made the presentation.

Saturday evening at 7:00 PM as you walked through the Italy First Baptist Church and into the courtyard it was as if you were transported back in time. The time that Jesus was walking the earth. The story of Easter unfolded in four different scenes.

“This is the day the Lord hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Rev. Preston Dixon of Mt. Gilead Church opened the service with that scripture. Yes, it was raining cats and dogs outside but the joy that came from within those walls made the weather move to the back burner.

The youth group of Central Baptist Church of Italy and the youth group of First Baptist Church of Milford joined together and participated in the “Discipleship Now” program (this program teaches youth how to grow in Christ) and had quite an adventure over this past weekend.

Saturday April 11th, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Italy First Baptist Church is presenting their Easter program, All Heaven and Earth. “You will walk the streets of Bethlehem, visit a family in Nazareth and witness the greatest gift of love ever bestowed on Mankind.”

The GMA (Girls Missionary Auxiliary) group from First Baptist Italy took a trip to Gary, Texas this past weekend to attend the State GMA house party at Daniel Springs Baptist Encampment.

Just because it’s Spring Break, that doesn’t mean certain people are slacking. Some youth of Central Baptist Church and youth director, Chris Talleri, volunteered their time to help with food distribution at the local food pantry on Monday.
