William Nelton Youngblood, age 62, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2009 in Whitney, Texas. The cause of death was accidental drowning. He was born February 21, 1947 to William Henry Youngblood and Martha Cleo (Rogers) Youngblood in Lubbock, Texas. Bill married Mary M. Boyd on July 16, 2007 in Italy, Texas. He served in the Vietnam War and was self employed. Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Italy.
Timoteo G. Riojas, 93 of Italy, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Trinity Mission in Italy. He was born to the late Celestino and Justa Garza Riojas on January 22, 1916 in Rio Grande City, Texas.
Fairace Aubrey Thompson, age 87, of Italy, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie. He was born April 17, 1922 in Brushie Prairie, Texas to Robert B. and Carrie (Lindsay) Thompson.
Betty M. Cole, age 78, of Italy, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 21, 2009 at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie. She was born July 31, 1930 in Mertens to Isom and Addie Lou (Coggins) Cagle. Betty was a member of the Italy Church of Christ.
Ronald Lane Cohagan, age 52, of Irving passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Baylor Health Center in Irving, Texas. He was born on January 3, 1957 in Waxahachie, to Donald L. and Marie (Herrin) Cohagan. Ronnie was raised in Italy, Texas where he attended High School. After graduation he attended Navarro Junior College, and the University of North Texas. He married Julie Chalfant December 14, 1984 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
John Ernest Phillips was born on a farm near Italy, Texas on April 10, 1939, died on March 20, 2009 in Dallas, Texas. John moved to Levelland, Texas as a boy, with his parents and older brother.
Alton Day, age 72, of Italy passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009 at his home. He was born January 21, 1937 in Brashear, Texas to O.B. and Modine (Clayton) Day. Alton married Jo Newell on June 1, 1957 in Grand Prairie. Alton was also a member of the Church of Christ in Italy.
Marie Joan Threet, who has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior, March 12, 2009. She was born to Chalmers Jerome Varner and Cynthia Drucilla Trigg Varner on February 4, 1916 at Lone Cedar. She married Ernest Price Threet (Jack) on December 20, 1941.
Frances Jane Grayson, 83, of Hillsboro died Thursday, March 5 at her residence. She was born June 28, 1925 in Italy, daughter of Burley E. and Nellie Griffis Wiles, where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1942.
Donnie Rose Connor, age 82 of Italy, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab of Italy, Texas. She was born on September 18, 1926 in Derrs Chapel, Texas to Floyd and Odell Brown Holley.
Reverend Lesly Carlisle Phillips passed away at his home Saturday, February 7, 2009. Services were Tuesday, February 10, 2009 under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas.
Patrick Griffis, 58, passed away Sunday, February 1st, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born March 6, 1950, to Dick Jefferson and Elizabeth Riddle Griffis in Waxahachie Texas.
Boyd Ray Hyles was born on October 11, 1930 in Italy Texas to Jim and Leona Hyles. He passed away on December 24, 2008 in Midlothian Texas. He had six brothers and one sister. On January 12, 1952 he married Shirley Ann Airheart in Italy and lived there until 1968 when they moved to Midlothian.
On Friday morning, Rev. Beverly Hamilton, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Italy and mother of Italy High School senior, Mike Vlk and friend to many, went home to be with our Lord at the age of 46.
Otha G. “Butch” Eddlemon passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, in Arlington after battling lung cancer.
Bobby Mack Hugghins, life-long resident of Italy, Texas, died on November 17, 2008. Services will be held at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Italy on Thursday, November 20, at 10AM with Reverend Jim Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Waxahachie City Cemetery.
Barbara James Wade passed away November 7, surrounded by her family. Services were held Tuesday, November 11.
Ann Doyle, 89, of Waxahachie died at home of natural causes on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008.
Michelle was devoted to her faith, family and friends. She loved being outdoors. Give her a fishing pole and she was as happy as she could be. She always had a smile to share with anyone who needed one. Michelle loved to be surrounded by family and friends.
Lowell Hamilton (L.H.) Baker, 82, of Waxahachie, Texas passed away on September 25, 2008. He was the only child born to the late James Edward and Maggie Lucille Baker of Italy, Texas.

Berlin R. Compton, 93, of Corsicana, passed away on Friday, Sept. 19, 2008 in Corsicana.
Mary was a 1984 Graduate of Italy. While in school, Mary pursued a nursing career with VICA through the Waxahachie School. In 1990, Mary moved to Minnesota and took several years to finished her life long goal to become a RN. However, before she took her exit exam, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She took her exam, passing the bar, but after surgery, was labeled disabled. Mary tried for several years to regain enough energy and skill to work in the nursing field but was unable. After a nine year battle with multiple cancerous tumors, Mary lost her battle.
