Horseless Rodeo for kids 12 & under!

Stagecoach Cowboy Church is planning a Horseless Rodeo on Saturday, April 18th for kids 12 & under at the Stagecoach Cowboy Church Arena. Hot dogs and fixin’s will be served beginning at 5:00pm with the Rodeo beginning at 6:00pm. Meal and Rodeo is Free!

As the election season draws near, inaccurate rumors regarding the Italy ISD bond continue to grow. Perhaps the biggest one is the idea that construction at Stafford Elementary will take a back seat to additions and renovations at the high school. This is completely untrue.

Lady Gladiators in 1st

The Italy Lady Gladiators find themselves in first place, one game ahead of last year’s district champion Frost. Tuesday they traveled to Covington to complete the first round of district games. The Lady Gladiators remain undefeated in district.

A cancer diagnosis is not the end of the story

Image: James and Juana Liggit of Red Oak share more than a last name as a married couple. They both are cancer survivors. They were diagnosed with cancer one week apart.

In 2012, Juana Liggit retired from work. She loves making crafts, gardening and playing golf, so she looked forward to staying active and enjoying life with her family and friends. Her husband, James, loves to play golf and has taught it for many years. He retired from the Air Force and owns a small recruiting company that helps place veterans with companies in the oil and gas fields.

School Bond Q&A Session scheduled today

Today, Monday, April 6, 2015, is one of three dates that there will be a Question & Answer Session regarding the $12m Italy ISD bond issue. There will be a campus tour at 6pm followed by the Q&A session held in the Italy High School band hall at 7pm. Bring your friends and neighbors and learn first hand what the school district is proposing and how it might affect you and your community.

Melchor Martinez, age 54, passed away March 28, 2015 in Italy, Texas. He was born to Jose Angel and Dora (Garcia) Martinez. After an aggressive battle with cancer he was called home, with his family by his side. Mel was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a parishioner at Epiphany Mission Catholic Church, a passionate Catechists teacher and a former bank analyst for Bank of America for 19 years. Mel was a role model and an inspiration to many.
