Location Change for Relay For Life of Central Ellis County

Due to the recent rains and the rainy forecast for this Saturday, May 30th, The Relay For Life of Central Ellis County location has changed. Instead of holding the event at the Waxahachie Sports Complex, the event will be held at Robbie E. Howard Eighth Grade Center, 265 Broadhead Road in Waxahachie on May 30, 2015.

Dale Crownover has been thankful all his life for the relationship he had with his parents. Roy and Bernyce Crownover were wonderful parents. They taught him to work hard, be honest and rely on his faith during adverse times. The Crownovers also taught him to give back, be humble and never take anything for granted.

The Relay For Life of Central Ellis County extends a special invitation to all cancer survivors and caregivers to attend this year’s Relay on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Waxahachie Sports Complex. May 25th Uruguay meeting cancelled

Due to weather conditions, the Uruguay meeting set for after school today is cancelled. Mr. Guidry, the planner and trip sponsor will be available to meet with any parents/others who would like information about the trip after school from 3-3:45 p.m. this week. Gladiator Band leadership team shares the joy of music at Trinity Mission

On Sunday the 17th, 11 Italy Gladiator regiment band members made their way to Trinity Mission Health center to give a little treat to the residents there. “You never know what a little music can do for somebody,” clarinet player Christy Murray said afterword. “These people love to see the talent in this young generation, and we want to exceed their expectations.”

Preliminary Results from General Election

There was a huge turnout this month for this election. I went back and looked, we had 343 voters last year and 565 voters this year for the city election. School board election was 398 last year and 411 this year. Here are the preliminary results of the election:

Italy baseball playoff game delayed

Our Italy Gladiators will have to wait another day to take on Mart in the bi-district contest. Game is re-scheduled for noon on Saturday, May 9th at Waco Connally. If Connally’s field is unplayable then game will be moved to Franklin at 2pm.

Vote YES or No: Stafford Elementary Students Bond Together

With voting clearly underway for Italy ISD’s 2015 Bond, I was ecstatic when Stafford Elementary’s 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Davee Garcia, contacted me to discuss a writing project that she and her fourth grade students were planning. The fourth graders were beginning their persuasive writing unit and had decided to write about the bond election. Their task was to write a persuasive paper of why someone should vote for or vote against the bond. I was asked to present to the class as the “bond expert.”
