From the Publisher: Ellis Emergency Service District #3 Tax Increase Proposal

Image:

Italy and the surrounding area’s fire district are in dire need of improving the fire department to take care of all of us in case of fire and ambulance needs. It is a volunteer fire station so it already runs for less. But it has needs to do its job for us, the people. As publisher of the Italy Neotribune I would ask all to support the very small increase in taxes. We will all get back benefits in help as well as lower fire insurance costs. Please vote favorably for the improvement.

Upcoming election information

Saturday, May 11, 2013 the citizens of Italy, Texas will be voting for a mayor and two city council members. The community in and around Italy will also be voting on an amendment proposed by the Ellis County Emergency Service District #3. The citizens of Milford will have both a city council and school board election.

Letter from the Publisher: Mayoral candidate “Meet and Greet” or Debate?

Normally at Neotribune we don’t get deeply involved in the City activities. But in this case we see a problem coming and would like to head it off before it happens. There has been a sign put up in the City Community Center for a Meet and Greet for the candidates for this evening, Monday April 15th. This sign has been posted by the present Mayor and listed as a Meet and Greet. The Mayor informed Mr. Hobbs that it was to be a Meet and Greet and made it sound like it was meant to be just exactly that.

2011 Mayoral Candidate Questionnaire: Nik Kinze

I want to make the Italy of tomorrow, better than Italy when it was in its heyday. If you want things to keep going like they have been, then I am NOT your candidate. If you are happy to have the Ellis County Observer digging up the dirt from Italy and splashing it all over the internet, then again, I am not the person you should elect. I want to make Italy’s government open and transparent. I want to get more people involved. The government is for the people, by the people.
