Nick Sam earns 2nd degree Black Belt

On January 2nd 2012 Nick and his parents visited the Hillsboro Unified Tae Kwon Do School located at 125 W Elm-Hillsboro Texas. After a few classes Nick decided he loved Tae Kwon Do. Nick worked extremely hard and after many grading and tournaments he tested for First Degree Black Belt in 2014 and then tested for 2nd Degree Belt in 2017.

Italy Superintendent Update: August 9, 2017

As many of you are aware, the Texas State Legislature is currently in a Special Session. With less than one week to go The House has passed House Bill 21. This bill has potential to increase state funding by $210 per student. This would provide Italy ISD with approximately $124,000.00 of additional revenue to educate our students.

Martha Clarice Irvin October 24, 1941 – August 5, 2017

Martha Clarice Irvin, known by all of her family and friends as “Clarice”; from Italy, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at her residence. Clarice was born October 24, 1941 in Haralson County, Georgia to the late Otis Sterling King and Nolly Mildred Price King.

Help the Italy Police Department “Stuff the Bus!”

The Italy Police Department invites you to help stuff the bus. Please help us in assisting local children in need. You may drop off your new school supplies and backpacks in the school bus box at City Hall located at 161 W. Main Street. The donation box will be available August 1st through August 31st.

Hey, I just wanted to apologize for causing y’all a huge problem with the rat nesting. I had no idea or even crossed my mind that I was contributing to the delinquency of rats. So as soon as I was made aware by Chief Taylor I stopped and tried to clean up food on the ground and donate rat traps.

The fundraiser will feature three “Golden Potties” which will rotate around Italy and Forreston in order to raise money for Gladiator Athletics. The Art on the Square gallery owned by the Ellis County Art Association located at 113 Franklin St. Waxahachie is hosting an exhibit of artwork created by Shelley Nance, 2007 graduate of Italy High School, who passed away in 2009.

Your attention to this matter is very important! Please be there July 20th if you have not already taken care of your PHYSICAL this year!

Silver Spurs 4-H Club Wrap Up Banner Year with District Championships

Silver Spurs 4-H Club wrapped up a highly successful 4-H year with numerous blue ribbons and first time achievements at the District 8 4-H Horse Show at Bell County Expo in Belton, Texas, June 19-20. Sadie Hinz, a soon to be 8th grader at Italy Junior High, led the team winning a buckle as High Point Intermediate Judged Horseman with 1st places in Western Riding and Western Horsemanship, as well as 2nd place in Showmanship, and 3rd in Trail.
