Italy ISD, Milford ISD as well as Avalon ISD administration has announced that each will have a delayed start time on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Classes will begin at 10:00am. Buses will run two hours late from their regular schedules.
November 14th at ten minutes after ten in the morning, Milford ISD was told to evacuate their school after a Chevron liquified petroleum gas pipeline exploded just south of Milford off of FM 308 and Highway 77.
Monday morning it was standing room only in Milford ISD’s gymnasium as the school and community came together to honor the veterans for Veterans Day.
Susan Jacinto is now teaching second grade at Milford Elementary. She is very happy to be there and is truly enjoying her students. This is her 22nd year of teaching school and she just loves teaching students new things.
Carole Cooper has joined the teaching staff at Milford ISD. She is their new Physical Education teacher. She always wanted to do something that would help people, it was between being an EMT or a teacher and lucky for Milford ISD she chose teaching.
Terri Morton did not always want to be a teacher. She went to school and became a paralegal. She thought that was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life, only to find out she really wanted to be a teacher the whole time — she just didn’t know it.
The Milford FFA Ag-Mechanics students cleaned up at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeos Ag-Mechanics contest held March 15-17.
Several students from Milford ISD participated in the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Ag Mechanics Show this past weekend. They really out did themselves bringing home lots of blue ribbons.
Lots of good things are happening at Milford ISD. They have hired some new teachers, they are starting a baseball program and are instituting new security precautions.
Jeannie Richardson (president) of The Milford Titus Women decided to honor the Milford fourth grade class with a pizza party on Thursday. Why you might ask? Because they collected the most can goods for the food drive lead by the Milford Titus Women.
Daniel Nazar, who attended Milford High, recently graduated from Harvard Law School in the top of his class. Daniel, who currently resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts, will take the bar exam in June and has already been offered a job with a prestigious law firm in New York City. He plans to make New York his home, but has fond memories of the good times in Milford, Texas.
On April 7, 2012 at around 12:20 pm, William Michael Trussell (63 yoa) of Frost, Texas, turned himself into Hill County authorities on a Sexual Assault of a Child Arrest Warrant. He was booked into the Hill County Jail and arraigned by Hill County Justice of the Peace Charles Jones on a $2500.00 bond. He immediately posted bond and was released.
Lorene Winchester was loved by many, many people. She was one of those people that after you met her she just touched your life with a little bit of joy. She loved people, she loved kids and she loved her job.
Ho! Ho! Ho! It is Christmas time at Milford ISD. Thursday evening the gymnasium was filled with excited students, Christmas trees, proud parents and family members. Milford ISD’s band director, Mr. Mike Trussell, had his band students playing up a storm of Christmas music bringing Christmas cheer to everyone there.
Friday morning as you walked into the gymnasium of Milford ISD you heard instruments warming up and saw excited young students wearing hats ready to perform their songs for everyone there. You also saw veterans and supportive parents and friends ready to join in the celebration on Veterans Day.
The Honor-Call is a volunteer organization for student trumpet players. They encourage music organizations to connect with their communities to pay tribute to America’s Military heroes by playing TAPS at funerals and military functions. Milford ISD is the first school in Texas and the only school in Texas to have joined so far.
Milford High School recently received an unexpected award from Carter BloodCare. For the 2010-2011 school year, Milford’s senior class had the highest percentage of donors for schools with fewer than 200 seniors. The award recognizes the commitment of last year’s graduating class for supporting Carter’s mission of saving lives by donating blood.
The Milford Chapter of the National Honor Society will host a blood drive on Wednesday, March 9, from 11:00am – 4:00pm at the Milford School. Carter BloodCare will have a blood mobile parked in front of the school for donating whole blood. Members of the community are invited to participate in an event designed to save lives.
Tuesday morning Trinity Mission’s halls were filled with children’s voices singing Christmas songs for all to hear.
The Milford ISD band was playing patriotic music and two young men of the Tri-M Student Honor Guard were carrying the flags across the auditorium presenting the “posting of the colors.” It gave me goose bumps.
On Wednesday, October 13th at Milford ISD at 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM there will be a flu shot clinic.
Students, parents and teachers attended the Milford ISD “Meet the Teacher Night”. Students were ready for school to start and teachers were ready for them.
Mark Jackson, Milford volunteer fire chief, and his volunteers presented fire safety tips for Milford elementary students Thursday.
Milord ISD had a wonderful turn out for Meet the Teacher night Thursday evening. Marilee Byrne, (principal of Milford ISD) said, “We are glad that so many of our parents came. This is probably one of the better turnouts that we have had for Meet the Teacher Night in several years and we are so excited that our parents are interested. This way we can have more parent involvement and partnership with the parents in educating our students.”
Marilee Byrne is the principal for Milford ISD. “One of our biggest accomplishments this year was we were able to make recognized in our accountability rating and we are very proud of that.”

Tuesday evening Milford ISD’s cafeteria was filled with proud parents, teachers and students. Everyone was gathered to honor and watch the newest members of the National Honor Society be inducted.

Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. Milford ISD presented their Spring Concert by all three of their bands. The cafeteria was filled with proud parents, grandparents and beautiful music.
Thursday evening at 6:30 PM at Milford ISD, the cafeteria was buzzing with excitement. It was Milford ISD’s annual International Dinner night.
As you walked into Milford ISD’s gymnasium Thursday evening at 7:00 PM you could just sense the excitement in the air. The second grade through fifth grade music classes were all getting ready to sing in the World’s Largest Concert. The World’s Largest Concert is a sing along concert linking students around the world through music.
On March 12th Milford ISD is the place you want to be. Students in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades will be performing songs in the gymnasium as part of this year’s “World’s Largest Concert” at 7:00 PM.
Friday at 11:30 AM many senior citizens were at Milford ISD enjoying a delicious Thanksgiving meal. They were all seated in the library with turkey and all the “fixins’ all set on beautifully decorated tables.
