The Gladiators invite the community to come and join their efforts to raise money for cancer research. On Friday, April 6 the Gladiators varsity and JV squads will take on the Hubbard Jaguars in non-district match ups beginning at 4:30pm. Italy High School Senior, Brandon Souder, has a head full of hair, thick and curly and reminiscent of Harpo, a member of the comedy team, The Marx Brothers or Epstein, a character from the 70’s show, “Welcome Back, Kotter.” Well, that’s not a bad thing because Brandon is willing to go out on a limb and take one for the team.

On Friday night, the Italy Gladiator Baseball parents pulled together and sponsored a hamburger fundraiser. Careful planning and good cooking brought the Gladiator Baseball team and their parents serving the community burgers and homemade desserts. All the food was donated, so the team cleared profits enough for practice bats and other equipment desperately needed.

With one last district game in which to compete, the Italy Gladiators played their last home game on Friday night at Loyd Davidson Field. They took on Clifton but that wasn’t the most important part. The last home game is over and the seniors are taking a step towards the next stage of their life.
